Greetings Charlie,
I really look forward to the emails that you send out. About 15 months ago I fell in love with two paint mares from afar. By the end of the summer their owner had given them to me. They had had very little training and little to no people contact. It had been 25 years since I had owned a horse so I was really excited. The first thing I did was find your site on the internet and order the Jesse Beery book. I have read it from cover to cover and used the gentling techniques described in the book. We are now riding these two mares who are 6 and 7….every once in awhile I hit a bump. And I have ordered several of the training DVD’s as well part of my battle is training me to train them. Keep sending me info I love it. Thank you…. Michael |

….hey thank you for all this information its been helping alot |
Hi there Charlie.
My name is Sheenagh and I live in Shropshire, England. I ride with my three teenage daughters and we have been bringing on a lovely 3 year old gypsy cob gelding. A friend recommended your site to me and I signed up for the free emails. Everything I read from you was helpful – especially the simple advice about “be the leader”. For the first time ever I would beat my kids to the computer to open up the mail each night. Our cob is a sweetheart, but like all babies he can be foalish and pushy. What your advice made me see was that I did need to be firm, especially when doing ground work. When we got him he would not lift his feet and liked to have a nibble at you when being led. Since following your tips, we have got him picking up all his feet politely, standing stock still to be brushed, bridled and saddled and leading without trying to nip. I have become the boss and he follows me round the yard in placid and happy submission – all done kindly but firmly. Thank you so much for the advice. We are on a tight budget, but will definately be saving up for prof. beery’s book and other helpful stuff from your site. Very best wishes. |
I’ve always loved and admired horses. Rriden a few but never owned one. Rescently a coworker asked me if I wanted a horse. I asked what’s wrong with it? He said nothing – he was moving and didn’t have a place for him .
To make a long story short I got the horse – a beautifful (unbroken) 3 year old paint. Needless to say I needed help! If it wasn’t for the Prof Beery 8 Volume Course in horse training and the letters that tou send I would be in a world of trouble. Thanks for your love of horses. |
Charlie,
Thank you so much for the tips. I really appreciate them. I have a very unruly horse that I am learning to train myself thru help from trainer friends and your books. Your advice and tips are very helpful. |
Charlie,
I continue to get your e-mails and read them to help me with my horses. I have only had horses for a couple of years so I am still green as a trainer but thru your e-mails and the Jesse Beery course I bought from you I wasable to train a mare that the previous owner had no luck with at all. She was a beautiful Arab but spooked and bucked and kicked, yes she had all the bad things wrong even after months of pro training. Even though I lost money on the horse when I sold her I felt good that she was a happier horse and calm and gentle to ride. Her new owner is new to horses and I told him to look at your site and sign up for the e-mails they are just a great tool to help in finding new ways to bond with these great animals. Thanks again for all your advice it is appreciated. Dale M. North Dakota |
