The Most Important Thing While Riding A Horse?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Is It REALLY \u00a0 &#8220;The Most Important Thing While Riding A Horse?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Kenny Scott, one of our featured horse<br \/>\ntrainers, says:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Forward Is The Most<br \/>\nImportant Part Of<br \/>\nRiding A Horse!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Now why do you s&#8217;pose that is?<\/p>\n<p>If you think about it, there are<br \/>\nlots of reasons.<\/p>\n<p>First, a tried, true, tested, and<br \/>\nproven way to teach a horse to stop is to<br \/>\nget him to &#8220;WANT&#8221; to stop.<\/p>\n<p>Now if you take a colt into the round<br \/>\npen, have him run around once or twice when he<br \/>\nhas a bunch of pent up energy&#8230;do you think he&#8217;s<br \/>\ngonna &#8220;want&#8221; to stop?<\/p>\n<p>I doubt it.<\/p>\n<p>When he&#8217;s spent some of that energy<br \/>\nand he&#8217;s gettin&#8217; tired, will he begin to want<br \/>\nto stop?<\/p>\n<p>Oh yeah!<\/p>\n<p>And how did you get him to &#8220;want&#8221; to<br \/>\nstop?<\/p>\n<p>By going forward.<\/p>\n<p>Ah-Ha!<\/p>\n<p>Convinced that going forward is the<br \/>\nmost important part of riding a horse yet?<\/p>\n<p>In case you&#8217;re not, here&#8217;s another.<\/p>\n<p>Come close and listen carefully because<br \/>\nthis is a very powerful horse training tip.<\/p>\n<p>If you take a rein while riding, asking<br \/>\nfor a give, your horse may choose to argue with you.<\/p>\n<p>Why?<\/p>\n<p>Because they&#8217;re a lot like kids.<\/p>\n<p>When you take away something, they argue.<\/p>\n<p>(Sort of like my kids after they have been<br \/>\nacting up or doing something wrong. \u00a0Take<br \/>\naway something until they change their<br \/>\nattitude or prove they&#8217;re ready to do right.)<\/p>\n<p>Now here&#8217;s the secret.<\/p>\n<p>Make him go forward while you do it and<br \/>\nhe&#8217;ll think he&#8217;s getting away with something. \u00a0While<br \/>\nhe thinks he&#8217;s getting away with something, he&#8217;ll<br \/>\nmore &#8216;n likely give you his chin when you ask for it.<\/p>\n<p>Is that cool or what?!!!<\/p>\n<p>Now most trainers know this. \u00a0But the way<br \/>\nI just explained it to you is how Kenny Scott<br \/>\nexplains it in his DVD.<\/p>\n<p>Admittedly, it was his brain child &#8211; not mine.<br \/>\nGotta give credit where credit is due.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, there&#8217;s still more proof that &#8220;going<br \/>\nforward while riding&#8221; is, according to Kenny, the most<br \/>\nimportant thing for riding.<\/p>\n<p>If you think you just learned something very<br \/>\nvaluable (which you did&#8230;unless you already knew it),<br \/>\nthen you ain&#8217;t seen nuttin&#8217;
