especially those
who have only been around horses for a
few months or perhaps a couple years.

There are a lot of bad habits horses have
that their owners simply do nothing about.

It can put you in real danger and simply
ruin your horse experience and relationship
because you no longer enjoy your horses,
you are fearful, and in reality….

“your horse dream world is fading”

I am amazed at how many letters I get and
folks I meet that don’t know how to handle
situations like kicking, rearing, balking,
disrespectful, crowding your space, and a
lot, lot more!

Why would anyone let their horse get away
with these kinds of issues and not take
care of them IMMEDIATELY??

Seriously – are you letting your horse
buck, run off with you, continually spook,
or get away with other bad habits?

WHY?

I have some strong opinions and suspect
lots of things are going on.

One is obvious – lack of understanding how
to correct these issues or how a horse
sees you as a leader. You may be your
own worst enemy.

I even know of some weak-knee’d trainers
who won’t take on some of these issues
because of a few reasons:

– they find it too difficult (yeah, it’s true)

– they know the owners won’t carry through
once the horse is fixed because they
treat their horses like puppies

– many horse owners don’t understand that
you have to be firm and persistent with
a horse and they will be criticized for
the training methods they use

Yeah – I said it.

Warning:
My next few comments will probably make
some of you mad at me. You might think
I’m too harsh because you think every
horse problem can be cured with treats.

Well, I’ll tell ya folks, horses are not
puppy dogs and they don’t learn like
humans or have human emotions, either.

Sorry to bust your bubble but it’s true.

If you don’t agree with that then perhaps
you should stop reading and unsubscribe.

Many problems in the horse training and
handling world can’t be fixed with sweet
talk, treats and “hoping” the horse will
have a change of mind.

Many things take hard, persistent work
and a complete understanding of how to
fix problems through knowing how a horse learns.

You MUST understand the true nature of the horse.

You can’t bribe a horse with treats and
expect him to stop kicking or running off
while you’re on his back. Sorry….

What does work?

Glad you asked….

Take a look at Diana Quintana’s horse training
DVD. She’s a master at this:

http://www.horsetrainingresources.com//quintanatraining/

Then look at Brad Meyers and his “Little Things”
