to all you Dads<br \/>\nout there. \u00a0Your roles are so important in the family<br \/>\nand being a father carries an awesome responsibility.<\/p>\n<p>It wasn&#8217;t until I had my first child that I really<br \/>\nunderstood the full impact and responsibilities a Dad<br \/>\ncarries.<\/p>\n<p>I wouldn&#8217;t trade it for anything.<\/p>\n<p>As a father of 5 (ages 14 &#8211; 32) I can only<br \/>\nthank the Lord for each one. \u00a0Each one is a<br \/>\nunique blessing and by, the Grace of God,<br \/>\nall are serving the Lord.<\/p>\n<p>The saying &#8220;Behind every successful man is a<br \/>\ngreat woman&#8221; is certain true in my life. \u00a0My wife<br \/>\nis an angel. \u00a0Between her putting up with me,<br \/>\nbeing a home school Mom, giving lots of time<br \/>\nto various ministries and also helping<br \/>\nwith the books for the business&#8230;well, I<br \/>\ncan claim only a little credit for any<br \/>\nsuccess we&#8217;ve had. \u00a0She&#8217;s &#8220;completed me.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>With the Lord&#8217;s direction and strength, and my<br \/>\nwife&#8217;s support, I believe we can tackle anything<br \/>\nHe leads us into.<\/p>\n<p>I was fortunate to have a father that modeled the way<br \/>\na father should be. \u00a0I try to do the same. \u00a0Have I failed<br \/>\nin different areas and could I have done a better<br \/>\njob? \u00a0Absolutely &#8211; thank heavens for grace and<br \/>\nforgiveness.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re far from perfect and we&#8217;ve have<br \/>\nsignificant trials, but the Lord has blessed<br \/>\nour family as we have drawn closer to Him.<br \/>\nAs a father, I couldn&#8217;t ask for anything more.<br \/>\nWe have issues just like anyone else. \u00a0But we<br \/>\nknow we can call on Him daily for strength.<\/p>\n<p>My Father passed away in 2003 at 84. \u00a0He was raised<br \/>\nusing horses on the dairy farm. \u00a0What is amazing is<br \/>\nthat within a single generation he went from using<br \/>\nhorse-drawn wagons to deliver milk to flying WW2<br \/>\nfighters (propeller) in the Air Force, to jets and<br \/>\nthen missiles and then the SR-71 Blackbird.<\/p>\n<p>No other time in human history could one person see the<br \/>\nprogression from horses to space. \u00a0Simply amazing!<\/p>\n<p>These days most businesses probably don&#8217;t share much about<br \/>\ntheir family and all, but I have heard from many of<br \/>\nyou who thank me for sharing some of the personal stuff.<\/p>\n<p>I believe you want to do business with real people<br \/>\n(and so do we). \u00a0We&#8217;re grateful for your business<br \/>\nand will try to serve you the best we can.<\/p>\n<p>All the kids have helped with the business over time.<br \/>\nI feel it gives them a real sense of what it takes<br \/>\nto run a business, provide good products and services,<br \/>\nplanning, finances, and all the other valuable lessons.<br \/>\nIt helps them prepare for life as they step out to<br \/>\nsupport themselves and family in the future.<\/p>\n<p>So &#8211; good, bad or indifferent &#8211; that&#8217;s who we are. \u00a0And<br \/>\nwe&#8217;re ready to serve you with all your horse training and<br \/>\nriding information needs.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n<p><strong> Father&#8217;s Day:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ya know, it seems you can&#8217;t turn on the TV any more without<br \/>\nsomeone bashing the father figure. \u00a0(I guess that&#8217;s why<br \/>\nwe don&#8217;t watch any regular TV shows in our family<br \/>\nbecause it&#8217;s a distorted view of the family and<br \/>\nthe father&#8217;s role in the home.)<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s lots of kids that don&#8217;t have a father in<br \/>\nthe home or don&#8217;t have a strong father to model<br \/>\nthe way. \u00a0It&#8217;s a tragedy. \u00a0We have ministries in<br \/>\nour church to address much of that but we certainly<br \/>\ncan&#8217;t replace a real father. \u00a0For most, the best<br \/>\nthing we can do is to point them towards their<br \/>\nHeavenly Father and teach them to lean on Him.<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully, He will never let us down.<\/p>\n<p>I know this is a horse tips list but I think<br \/>\nthere is a message for some of you that you<br \/>\nneed to hear today:<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps you don&#8217;t have a favorable view of your<br \/>\nfather. \u00a0Among the thousands of readers I have<br \/>\nto this horse tips magazine list there has to be<br \/>\nmany who either didn&#8217;t have a Dad at home for<br \/>\nvarious reasons or had a Dad who didn&#8217;t model<br \/>\nwhat a Father should be. \u00a0Some of you were<br \/>\nprobably hurt in various ways.<\/p>\n<p>Can I say this &#8211; if you are holding on to hurts,<br \/>\nresentment or even hate &#8211; there is a peace and<br \/>\nfreedom that comes from releasing those feelings<br \/>\nand letting go. \u00a0Forgiveness trumps justice<br \/>\nand resentment every time.<\/p>\n<p>I am teaching a series of Sunday School lessons<br \/>\non forgiveness. \u00a0It&#8217;s powerful. \u00a0Examine your<br \/>\nheart and ask the Lord to help you forgive.<br \/>\nYou can have peace through it all.<\/p>\n<p>End of sermon&#8230; \u00a0:&gt;)<\/p>\n<p>So &#8211; to all you Dad&#8217;s &#8211; Happy Father&#8217;s Day.<\/p>\n<p>For the rest of you &#8211; please take time to contact<br \/>\nyour father if you can. \u00a0And please take time to<br \/>\nencourage your Dad and others around you.<\/p>\n<p>A strong nation is built on strong families. \u00a0And,<br \/>\nstrong families need strong fathers that will both<br \/>\nlead and support them.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a hint for all you wives and children&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>As a father I can assure you this: \u00a0It doesn&#8217;t take<br \/>\nmuch encouragement to energize us Dads to keep us going.<br \/>\nBut every little bit is important. \u00a0Thank us.<br \/>\nAcknowledge us for what we do. \u00a0Encourage us in our work.<br \/>\nBe sincere, hug us and tell us you believe in us.<br \/>\nWe can go a long, long ways with that.<\/p>\n<p>Lord bless all of you Dads on Sunday<br \/>\n(and throughout the year).<\/p>\n<p>OK &#8211;
