and was the<br \/>\npremier fighter plane of World War 2.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. and its allies couldn&#8217;t develop a<br \/>\nplane that could match or beat it until 1943.<\/p>\n<p>Howard&#8217;s last name, by the way, is&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Hughes&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Yep.<\/p>\n<p>Pretty much everyone knows who Howard<br \/>\nHughes was.<\/p>\n<p>Here was a man that had &#8220;THE THING&#8221;<br \/>\nfor the army and they said&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;No thanks&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And then it comes back to bite them in the backside.<\/p>\n<p>Have you ever made a mistake like that?<\/p>\n<p>You poo poo&#8217;d something only to find out later<br \/>\nwhat a mistake you&#8217;d made?<\/p>\n<p>I have.<\/p>\n<p>A classic example for horse owners is<br \/>\nthinking they don&#8217;t need to know certain<br \/>\nthings about horses and their training.<\/p>\n<p>Truth is, the more you learn the better you<br \/>\nbecome&#8230; and fast.<\/p>\n<p>But &#8220;poo poo it&#8221; like the army did with Howard Hughes&#8217;<br \/>\nnew airplane, and it could come back and bite you.<\/p>\n<p>As an example, I think EVERYONE should learn as much<br \/>\nas they can about teaching a horse about Reining.<\/p>\n<p>The benefits are extraordinary.<\/p>\n<p>Why?<\/p>\n<p>Because a Reining horse is the ultimate broke horse.<\/p>\n<p>In Reining, you get your horse doing things like<br \/>\nsliding stops, spins, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe you don&#8217;t want to do sliding stops or<br \/>\nspins &#8211; and that&#8217;s no problem.<\/p>\n<p>But you should attempt teaching it to your horse<br \/>\nbecause you would be astonished what you learn by<br \/>\ntrying to get your horse to learn.<\/p>\n<p>And not just sliding stops&#8230;but all the other stuff too.<\/p>\n<p>To teach your horse new things is to teach yourself new things.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a wonderful journey filled with over- whelming satisfaction.<\/p>\n<p>If you have the interest in your horse like I think you do,<br \/>\nthen I urge you to learn from two very good sources.<\/p>\n<p>One is Doug and Danie Hewlett.\u00a0 You can see their info at:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/horsetrainingresources.com\/dvd-daniedoughewlett.html\" title=\"Get Hewlett's Reining DVD\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Get Hewlett&#8217;s Reining DVD<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Hewletts go through the basics of Reining including<br \/>\nwhat things to look for that tell you if a horse would<br \/>\nbe good at Reining.<\/p>\n<p>But even if yours wasn&#8217;t, that doesn&#8217;t mean he can&#8217;t<br \/>\nlearn it.\u00a0 He just may not be as good &#8211; that&#8217;s all.<\/p>\n<p>One thing to be aware of when teaching your horse new<br \/>\nthings is he won&#8217;t get it right off the bat.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, you may think to yourself, &#8220;Why is this horse<br \/>\ndoing that?\u00a0 That&#8217;s not what I want.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>But remember this.<\/p>\n<p>Your horse doesn&#8217;t know what to do at first.<\/p>\n<p>Why would he be good at it?<\/p>\n<p>But when you work with him and explain it to him every<br \/>\ntime you work with him, he&#8217;ll start to get really good at it.<\/p>\n<p>And you may be surprised how quickly he gets good at it.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, because he won&#8217;t get it very good at first<br \/>\nyou may even think you&#8217;re doing it wrong.<\/p>\n<p>You may start to question yourself.<\/p>\n<p>You may start to think you can&#8217;t do it.<\/p>\n<p>But&#8230;you can!<\/p>\n<p>You just hang in there.<\/p>\n<p>Try to work with your horse at least 3 times a week.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, try this.<\/p>\n<p>I know you may be short on time &#8211; we all are.<\/p>\n<p>But try to give your horse 6 days in a row starting on<br \/>\nMonday or Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>All I ask is you give him the next 6 days in a row.<\/p>\n<p>If you can&#8217;t do 6, then do 5.<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t have anything planned.<\/p>\n<p>Tell yourself you&#8217;ll spend that time on your horse and<br \/>\nnothing else until you feel his training for that day is done.<\/p>\n<p>Pick something to teach him.\u00a0 And at least understand how to<br \/>\ndo it before you show him.<\/p>\n<p>If you do that and see the progress he&#8217;s made&#8230;especially<br \/>\nafter you&#8217;ve educated yourself a little on what to do<br \/>\n(by using Reining techniques for example), then&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You&#8217;ll be hooked&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ll wonder why you haven&#8217;t spent more time doing it.<\/p>\n<p>Just don&#8217;t make the mistake the army did and let a great<br \/>\nidea go by and let come back and bite you in the&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Tushie&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/horsetrainingresources.com\/dvd-daniedoughewlett.html\" title=\"Get Hewlett's Reining DVD\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Get Hewlett&#8217;s Reining DVD<\/strong><\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nOk&#8230;
