\u00a0I was there years (decades) ago.<\/p>\n<p>Almost all of us were there at one time<br \/>\n(unless you were raised around horses).<br \/>\n<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>BTW &#8211;<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>How did you get hooked?<\/strong> \u00a0Perhaps you saw horses<br \/>\nin a pasture while traveling and started dreaming,<br \/>\nperhaps you went riding somewhere with a friend,<br \/>\nor read a book, or saw a movie&#8230;whatever way you<br \/>\ngot hooked and then couldn&#8217;t stop thinking and<br \/>\nday-dreaming of riding off into the sunset &#8211; the<br \/>\npoint is &#8211; you got hooked and had great hopes.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, Julie (not her real name) started describing<br \/>\nhow frustrated she was that her mare wouldn&#8217;t<br \/>\nmind her or do what she wanted. \u00a0Yet she saw<br \/>\nhow well her horse performed with the previous owner.<\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s up with that?<\/p>\n<p>Now, after a year of messing with this horse,<br \/>\nit seemed she was going backwards and the horse<br \/>\nwas getting worse. \u00a0In some situations she even<br \/>\nfelt scared of the horse and she knows the horse<br \/>\nwas sensing her fear and that she was intimidated.<\/p>\n<p>Through her tears and frustration, Julie was<br \/>\nabout to give up.<\/p>\n<p>[Unfortunately I&#8217;ve heard this story dozens<br \/>\nof times. \u00a0Same song &#8211; different verse.]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-size: medium;\"><strong>Don&#8217;t Quit!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Ideally, what we all need is a good mentor to work<br \/>\nwith. \u00a0Someone with experience that has both the<br \/>\nability and patience to work with US and our<br \/>\nhorse. \u00a0Someone to get us through the basics and<br \/>\novercome our inexperience and fears.<\/p>\n<p>Someone to coach us through both the basic and<br \/>\ntough situations and help us understand how<br \/>\na horse thinks and learns. \u00a0Then takes us by the<br \/>\nhand until we, too, can do it ourselves.<\/p>\n<p>We need to both learn AND build confidence.<\/p>\n<p>Some of us can find that at a stable, a trusted<br \/>\nfriend or even some clinics. \u00a0But for many<br \/>\nof us, we don&#8217;t have those kinds of connections<br \/>\nor unlimited money to pay someone to show us.<\/p>\n<p>I would urge you to seek out a trusted, experienced<br \/>\nhorse person that knows their stuff if you&#8217;re in<br \/>\nthis situation. \u00a0The one-on-one help you could<br \/>\nget would be invaluable.<\/p>\n<p>But not everyone has that opportunity due<br \/>\nto time, money, location and\/or family situations.<\/p>\n<p>So what do you do? \u00a0How can you overcome your<br \/>\ninexperience and start to enjoy your horses?<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-size: medium;\"><strong>Professional Help:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Whether you have local help or not, you can<br \/>\nlearn a lot from a professional trainer. \u00a0That&#8217;s<br \/>\nEXACTLY why we have over two dozen DVD titles<br \/>\nwe offer to those who need to learn.<\/p>\n<p>I would strongly suggest you look at our professional<br \/>\ntrainers like Diana Quintana, Sam Burrell, Brad Meyers,<br \/>\nLinda Braddy and others. \u00a0Their complete understanding<br \/>\nof horses and how they learn is second to none.<\/p>\n<p>Go here to look at the DVDs:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.horsetrainingresources.com\/dvd\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.<wbr>horsetrainingresources.com\/<wbr>dvd\/<\/wbr><\/wbr><\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re not sure what you need, look here:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.horsetrainingresources.com\/help-me-choose\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.<wbr>horsetrainingresources.com\/<wbr>help-me-choose\/<\/wbr><\/wbr><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Also &#8211; note that we are running a special test<br \/>\nright now for visitors coming from Facebook.<br \/>\nBut there&#8217;s no reason you can&#8217;t join in!<\/p>\n<p>Use the coupon code <strong>FB20<\/strong> and take 20% off your<br \/>\nENTIRE order. \u00a0That will only be good for a couple<br \/>\nmore days.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re at that point of frustration or<br \/>\ndisillusionment, don&#8217;t dispair!
