\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong><strong>&#8220;4,777 of them!&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s an astounding 95.5%<\/p>\n<p>Was she a natural?<\/p>\n<p>Maybe.<\/p>\n<p>But even a natural has to practice.<\/p>\n<p>Doing something over and over can only<br \/>\nget you better at it.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"color: #0000ff;\">The Secret of Repetition:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>And that, my friend, is a BIG horse<br \/>\ntraining principle.<\/p>\n<p>If you want your horse to do something,<br \/>\nit has to be explained to him&#8230;day after day.<\/p>\n<p>At first, he won&#8217;t likely get it.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, as he attempts what you&#8217;re<br \/>\nasking, it won&#8217;t be purty.<\/p>\n<p>He may be a little clumsy doing it.<\/p>\n<p>But you keep at it remembering that<br \/>\nyou must explain it to your horse day<br \/>\nafter day after day.<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t kick yourself if your horse doesn&#8217;t<br \/>\nmaster something right away.<\/p>\n<p><strong>It&#8217;s not your fault. \u00a0It&#8217;s normal.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He&#8217;ll get better and better as long<br \/>\nas the habit you&#8217;re teaching him is the<br \/>\none you want him learning.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>You Must Be Consistent:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s one place the consistency<br \/>\nfactor comes in.<\/p>\n<p>Consistently, you explain to horse<br \/>\nwhat you want him to do&#8230;day after day.<\/p>\n<p>And you know what one of the best things<br \/>\nyou should explain to your horse is?<\/p>\n<p>Explaining to him how to move his<br \/>\nparts.<\/p>\n<p>By parts I mean his body.<\/p>\n<p>You see, if you divide your horse into<br \/>\n4 parts you would have the head and neck, the<br \/>\nshoulders, the barrel (rib cage), and the hindquarters.<\/p>\n<p>Why divide them up like that?<\/p>\n<p>Because you need a way to make it easiest for<br \/>\nthe horse to understand what you&#8217;re asking him.<\/p>\n<p>If you asked him to move all the parts<br \/>\nat once, he wouldn&#8217;t get it.<\/p>\n<p>You and he would get frustrated and it<br \/>\njust wouldn&#8217;t work.<\/p>\n<p>But start with a body part and just work on that<br \/>\nand you have a formula for success.<\/p>\n<p>Now why do you want to teach him move<br \/>\nhis body parts?<\/p>\n<p>Because that&#8217;s how you get your horse<br \/>\nto move his whole body later.<\/p>\n<p>Just think.<\/p>\n<p>You touch your leg toward his flank<br \/>\nand immediately his hind end moves away.
