it up – but I’m not. It’s a real law:

In Idaho, it’s against the law to fish
for trout while sitting on the back of a giraffe.

No…I’m not kidding.

Now I’m not tryin’ to discredit folks in
Illinois and Idaho.

These laws are likely old laws enacted
in the past that have been forgotten.

But what about the laws in the horse world?

There are three kinds of laws in the horse world:

One is the “Myth Laws”.

Those are laws people think are true
but they’re NOT.

The next is “Actual Laws”.

Those are the absolutes in the horse world.

The thrid is “Gray Laws”.

These are laws that depend on the situation
and the horses themselves.

They may or not be true…depending on
the situation.

So let’s take “Myth Laws” first.

There’s a debate on the most common
mistake people make regarding horses – but it
seems to be this one.

A horse is very much like a dog.

People want to treat their horse like
they do their dog but there are so many dangers
doing that…I get real upset when I see it
happening.

A horse is, in fact, so different from
a dog that it should not be considered anything
like it unless and until you know and understand
the differences.

Why?

To be blunt…you could be killed.

I could cite multiple REAL experiences
I have received emails about or have read
about. Treat your horse like a dog and
you’ll be sorry you did.

There are lots of “Myth Laws”. I don’t
have time nor the energy to list and explain
them…but they’re there.

 Next is the “Actual Laws”.

These are the laws in the horse world
to really pay attention to because, for the
most part, they apply to all horses.

An example of Actual Laws are things like:

1. You have to train both sides
of the horse.

2. A horse is a prey animal. Thus,
always treat him accordingly
to keep his fear level down.

3. Horses can feel a fly on them
yet we think we need to kick
the !@#$ out them to turn
left or right. The problem?
They feel the kick, thank
you very much – they just
don’t know what you’re asking
of them…yet.

And so on.

The Actual Laws are something you must
absorb into your brain AND use if you’re gonna
have a horse.

Why is it so important?

Again, it boils down to your safety.

Violate an “Actual Law” and you may
end up hurt…or worse.

Know the Actual Laws, and you will be
so much safer and have a lot more fun.

The third set of laws are the “Gray Laws”.

These are the ones that may or may not
apply to horses depending on the situation.

They’re called Gray Laws because they’re
not exactly Black and White or absolute.

An example of Gray Laws is:

1. A horse bucks with some but not others.

2. Although a horse is a horse, he is not the
same as all horses. Therefore, not every
technique will work on every horse.

Like the other Laws, there are lots of
these but that’s all my brain could cough up at
the moment.

As you can imagine, there are so many
laws it is overwhelming.

How do you learn it all?

Truly, the shortcut way is to learn the
“Actual Laws”.

Why?

Because knowing them will wipe out they
Myth Laws.

And once you know the Actual Laws, the
Gray Laws are much easier to deal with
and figure out.

So I urge you to know the Actual Laws.

Yes, it takes time but is well worth
the effort.

A great place to learn the laws and how
they work is right from the Jesse Beery
Horse Training Course itself.

http://www.horsetrainingresources.com/beery/

But don’t be fooled…

Even though the Beery course covers things
like driving and similar training, the real
meat is Jesse Beery’s complete understanding
of how a horse learns and his application of
the principles he developed over the many years
of training literally hundreds of horses.

This course is just as valuable today as it
was the day it was written. Perhaps even more.

You see, this course was written when folks
had to rely on their horses every day. They
had to have safe, well-minded horses or they’d
suffer. They’re daily lives, farms and businesses
depended on horses.

You can read more about the Jesse Beery Course here:

http://www.horsetrainingresources.com/beery/

We offer the Beery course in a spiral bound
book, as downloads and in audio book form. You
can learn in any mode you so choose or prefer.

You’ll probably be interested in the Beery
pulley bridle and the 4-Way riding and training
bit, too.

We offer all these things in our Beery Bundles
you can see here:

http://www.horsetrainingresources.com/bundle/

Oh – and if you want to teach a bunch of fun
tricks to you horse, Volume 8 of the Beery Course
is all about trick training.

We also offer a DVD by Sue Robertson on trick
training here:

http://horsetrainingresources.com/dvds/suerobertson-trick-training/

We also offer Sue’s trick training DVD and the
Beery course book as a bundle. You can save a lot
of money when you get both.

Phew – that’s a lot for today. We’ve been
workin’ like busy beavers around here and
aren’t letting up.

Kindle Books:

We’re putting more books up on Kindle, too.
In fact, I’ll have a new books I’m going to
be launching in the next couple weeks.

You can see the Kindle books here:

http://amzn.to/ZqIJy5

Stay safe out there. Work with your horses
and get ’em respecting you. Your life may depend on it…

Blessings,

Charlie

P.S.
