I hope you had a chance to see the
Jesse Beery special on the Rick Lamb show.

I am always amazed at the understanding, experience
and methods Beery had developed working with horses.

With no formal training of horses he was able
to figure out so much about the horse’s brain,
how he thinks and the various dispositions.

And he was a master at fixing all kinds of
horse problems and went around the country
demonstrating them.

You can read more about Jesse Beery here:

http://horsetrainingresources.com/beery.html

—————————————————

Now on to today’s topic:

“Is Your Horse’s Brain Misfiring?”

Did you know that at least 100,000
separate chemical reactions occur in the
human brain…

“Every Second!”

I’m not sure what happens in a horse’s
brain, but there’s more than what people think.

Let’s take, for example, riding a horse.

As you likely know, you don’t just
plop yourself onto a horse and go.

There are lots of important things
to think about.

A lot of these things have a lot to
do with how to correctly ride a horse.

If you’re not doing certain things
right, he’ll get lots of mixed signals and
his brain may misfire.

And none of the signals he can make sense
of because he’ll be confused.

And confusion leads to fear.

Fear leads to panic.

Panic leads to you and/or your
horse gettin’ hurt.

Here’s an example of something that
can make your horse’s brain misfire from
confusion.

Sue Robertson, who we filmed showing
“How To Float In The Saddle”, talked about
correct foot position.

Unless you didn’t know it, your toes
and feet may be pointed completely wrong and
putting your body weight in the wrong places
on the horse.

For example, don’t ride pushing against
the stirrups with your toes pointed outward.

Why?

Because it pushes on the back of the
saddle.

So what?

Well…because it pushes on the back
of the saddle, it also pushes on the horse’s
kidneys and causes him problems such as pain.

That can get you bucked off.

Plus, you’re suddenly in your horses
way and it’s harder for him to move as you need.

Not only that, you’re not sitting
in the saddle like you should. You’re actually
sitting on your dang feet.

And that’s not right – nor is it safe.

http://horsetrainingresources.com/dvd-sue-riding.html

So whaddya do?

Ride with your heels down.

Yes…your heels down.

There should be just enough contact with
the stirrups that you put just enough weight on
your feet to push your heels down.

Once you do this, you’ll notice you’re
not sitting back on the horse’s kidney area.

This centers you on the horse better too.

It helps get your body balanced how it
should be.

Think of it as sitting right in the
middle of a teeter-totter.

If you sit smack-dab in the middle,
that teeter-totter won’t go up or down.

But if you’re in the middle and leaning
one way or the other, that teeter-totter will
move.

That’s what I mean by balance.

So as you can see, there’s quite a bit
more to riding a horse than what you’d think.

And if you want to know more, I urge
you to look at Sue’s info because you will be
shocked how much there is to riding a horse.

You can see more about Sue’s info by
clicking on the following:

http://horsetrainingresources.com/dvd-sue-riding.html

You’ll enjoy Sue’s instruction and how she shares
her experience. She has spent a lifetime
handling horses both in and out of the show ring.

(I’ll be releasing additional videos of Sue in the
near future – including trick training)

That’s all for today… stay safe around your horses!

Charlie

P.S.
