Do This Each Time Before Trail Riding

Not everyone does it.

But I suggest you do if your horse
isn’t where should be.

And that is this.

Before you EVER get on your horse,

…Do You Check For Problems?

What do I mean?

First, when you break your horse out
to go trail riding, you should groom him.

As you do, check his response to that.

In other words, does he flinch when you
touch him in certain places because, perhaps,
his back is sore?

Man! If you get on a horse with a
sore back you’re just askin’ for trouble.

Anyway, pay attention to his actions.
Is he disrespectful or just maybe hurting
for the day?

If he’s hurting, better to address it
then and there rather than get on and silently
think to yourself, ‘Ah…it’ll be alright.’

But if you find yourself thinking,
“Every time I get on that horse he
gives me trouble when I ‘X’ and I’m tired of
it.”…then you should not ignore it.

If that’s the case, be sure to address
that before you go trail riding unless you’re
sure you can deal with his behavior alright.

Just pick a day where you can spend 2,
3,4 or 5 hours working out the problem.

If you don’t deal with it and help him
though it, it could be THE thing that caused an
accident while trail riding.

And if you’re like me (in your 40’s, 50’s or older)
you break more like an old egg than a green stick.

The older I get, the more I focus on safety.
But that’s a mindset everyone should have despite
age.

Linda Braddy is big on this. In fact, she
is where I got this tip from. If you want to know
more about her info, click the following:

Anyway, I just worry about you.  I want
you to ride safe because an injury is never
worth anything except to doctors and hospitals.

Please take your safety seriously.  About the
time we think nothing will happen your horse
will spook at something or will exercise his
attitude and you’ll get hurt.

Have a great weekend!

Please pray for all those families affected by
the series of terrible storms that crossed
the South and East this week.

Sincerely,

Charlie

“thank you charlie.
it is unusual to find a bussiness man that
shares his faith so openly.  May God keep you
and your family in the palm of His Hand.

“Thanks again Charlie:
Great horse and trainer psychology!   My
Grand Dad always said: “The outside
of a horse is healthy for the inside of Man.”

And as you profess, it works both ways!

John D.”
